I aim to compassionately assist my students in their journey from physical or mental discomfort to inner peace and transformation.
In 2005 I started practicing yoga as a way to manage intense chronic pain (fibromyalgia). After a consistent practice I experienced yoga’s profound ability to heal on more than just a physical level. From this experience came the desire to become a teacher and help others find freedom from pain as I did.
My alignment-based and tantric-influenced teaching style is a result of studying with a myriad of master teachers. I hold an Advanced 500-hr teaching certification through Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago and I am a certified Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher. I continue my studies in Tantric Hatha Yoga with Rod Stryker and Therapeutic Iyengar Yoga with Gabriel Halpern. I am grateful for the immense knowledge of all of the master and local teachers with whom I study.
Each class I teach is a unique blend of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath work), visualizations, and meditation. I challenge students to focus on alignment while relaxing the mind, to strengthen their bodies while flowing with the breath, and to let go while remaining grounded. I am extremely mindful of the delicate balance between effort and ease required for self exploration, healing and inner transformation to occur. Expect to leave my class feeling relaxed and refreshed.
